Wallow in waffles
Time to dig out the waffle iron! At last, it’s time to indulge in fresh, hot, crispy waffles again. Here is a dreamy recipe for you to share with someone you like.
100 g butter
1 tsp baking powder
400 ml milk
180 g plain flour
a pinch of salt
To make vegan waffles, simply replace the butter with dairy-free margarine and replace the milk with oat milk or almond milk!
1. Melt the butter and leave it to cool.2. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.3. Add the milk while stirring. Then pour the melted butter into the mixture and beat until smooth. Leave the batter to swell for 20 minutes.4. Heat the waffle iron and brush some butter on its plates.5. Pour 100 ml of the batter onto the hot iron and cook until golden brown.6. Stir the batter every time before pouring it onto the iron so that the flour doesn't sink to the bottom.
NB! Do not stack the waffles. They'll lose their crispiness!
When it comes to toppings, your imagination is the only limit. Serve classic style with jam and cream. American style with icing sugar and maple syrup. Or party style with ice-cream, banana slices and chocolate sauce!
