It is so much easier to be creative in an inspiring environment! These four tips help you transform a dull corner into a creative nook.
1. A suitable desktop
Find a desktop that has plenty of space for working, as well as room for storage and a plant or two. You can often pick up a bargain at second-hand shops, flea markets and auctions! Give it a new lease of life with a lick of paint.
Soft, warm lighting has a relaxing effect, inviting you to sit down and get creative. String lights are simple and effective! Hang them doubled up on a nail or use them to frame the entire corner.
Good storage should preferably be practical and add an on-trend element. Go for colourful storage boxes, especially round boxes to contrast with the straight-edged binders and notepads. A metal mesh for pens, erasers and scissors helps keep the desktop neat and tidy.
4. Personal touches
A pile of your favourite books, magazine cuttings and photos with fond memories or future dreams. The personal touches are probably what is most important when creating an inspiring space for creative work. Clip them onto a metal mesh, a string on the wall or in small card holders on the desktop.
